You guys, it's Saturday night! woohoo.

What are you up to? Out on a date night? Hitting up da club? haha.

Matt and I basically cleaned all day (here at home and at the masonic). Then Matt made chili, folded laundry and watched football while I made Clover Clubs and then knocked out 15 thank you notes, 1/3 done! Now I'm about to enjoy my most favorite hobby, adding RSVPs to the spreadsheet! Seriously, favorite thing.

bringing color home!

As many of you know, Matt & I bought a new house together. So over the past few months we've been very busy with that, house hunting and finishing up selling the old house and packing, packing, packing. Three weeks ago (today!!!) we finally, it seemed like finally, got the keys to our new house. That weekend brought on lots of painting.

 the night after we got the keys, we went to the house and talked about colors. these were our ideas.

 we knew we wanted an accent wall and this Mandarin from Sherwin Williams was the perfect choice.

 the gray we used in the living room was darker than our original pick.

Matt was leaning towards the Essential Gray so we brought samples to try out. 

This was definitely the way to go, way to go Matt!

and we used North Star in the kitchen.

It was a long few days, painting a large living room, kitchen hallway, bathroom (white) and our bedroom. Paint always helps it make feel like home and feel like home it does. The final picture I took last Friday, it felt so good to be standing there in the kitchen, it felt like home!

Something about having this little blog here has me excited to share. It's probably that I know I'll have visitors. (I hope! hi?) It's also a very exciting time with a house to paint and add our style to.

Here are a few inspirations:

 In particular for us an orange accent wall at the far end of the living room!

If we're feeling ambitious we may attempt another bold accent, inspired in part by sfgirlbybay's chalkboard wall. We even have a wall decal from shanna murray.

Oh how I wish our bathroom looked like that!

We'd love a shade of light blue like this in our bedroom.

The cooler colors of blue and gray will bring a lightness to the space. We'll be able to add pops of color starting with pillows and art. The orange wall might be a bold choice but I think it will really bring a more modern feel to the space. We want it to feel warm too and the orange should help us achieve that.

Wish us luck as we visit the house again with these more solid ideas in mind, hopefully they live up to our expectations! We'll be shopping for paint and paint, paint, painting through the weekend. (thanks moms and santi!)

Keys to Our New Home

Today was a big day. Our Save the Dates went out in the mail (be kind to them USPS) and we picked up the keys to our new house! (keyskeyskeyskeyskeyskeys!!!!) Saturday morning we'll be at the house bright and early to decide which rooms should be painted and finalize paint choices. It's a very exciting time!

our favorite room in the house

My favorite room in my house is the living room. It's where we fort, where we eat, where we snuggle, where we tv/movie/read/mac. That room gets a lot of love and we love it. 

It's where we can relax.
